BEDA Day 10: Lord of the Screen
So I have a funny story for you. About four years ago a friend and I decided to plop ourselves on the couch and watch all three Lord of the Rings movies. In a row. Without breaks. (well except for the bathroom and to restock the candy and pizza.) I have no clue why we did this and by the end I hated life. My butt and back were sore. My brain was fried and I was feeling more than a little sick from eating too many twizzlers. But now, I am glad we did it and it is a really fun thing we can say we did once.
Fast forward to BEDA when Jordan, who is running the BEDA blog and helping MJ keep track of all those participating, asked bloggers for a challenge. A challenge you ask? Well I have a great one for you! In no way did I ever expect Jordan to answer my challenge of watching all the Lord of the Rings movies in one day but he did. Not only did he do it but he kept a running commentary for us to read and it is hilarious.
So head over to the BEDA blog and laugh at Jordan's misery and hilarious commentary. And Congrats to Jordan! It kind of makes me want to do a movie marathon again. Have you ever done anything like this? Let me know in the comments.
(And yes this is my BEDA post for today. Easter weekend at the restaurant is kicking my butt and I haven't had much time to read but I promise more book related posts to come VERY soon!)

It isn't literary, but my friends and I did this w/ all 3 original Star Wars many years ago. I was physically wiped too, but it's fun to look back on and talk about it.
I am trying to get around to all of my Followers this week. Some folks are getting a "Stack Overflow" message when they visit my blog. This is a random interaction problem between blogger and Internet Explorer. To fix this, just empty your Temp or Temp Internet folder. You could also consider switching to Firefox as your browser. I hope you'll still continue to visit!
I love LOTR, but I think watching all three in a row might make me want to tear my eyeballs out and/or hate the films for the rest of my life :)
Yikes! I had trouble sitting through them one at a time ... but you are younger than me so you should do this kind of stuff!
So one time, my mom and I spent an entire weekend watching all three of the extended versions of Lord of the Rings back to back to back. Thats about 11.5 hours!
And of course, I totally loved it. But what more can you expect from a girl who named her dog Samwise Gamgee.
(Yes, I know I am a huge dork! But I also know one day you and I will watch all 7 (make that 8) Harry Potter movies back to back!)
oooooh i did this myself about 5 years ago with a friend. i can't remember what time we started but we (well ME, he fell asleep when frodo was debating about dropping the ring) ended around 5 am. and i drove home too. it was awesome. i would like to do it with the extended versions the next time around.
